A favorite smile!!

Last week we celebrated a wonderful day dressed in white with our youngest daughter as she made the important step of being baptized. Her older brother performed the ordinance and said she smiled even when he was lowering her into the water, while she was under the water and as she came out of the water. I also saw a beautiful beaming smile on her face. She was radiant. It was evidence that she was filled with the Holy Ghost.

The next day I pondered what amazing joy I saw in her face and how about an hour earlier when we were trying to take a few photos how challenging it had been to get her to smile (a real smile) after the first couple of pictures. It was a hard thing for her to do and we were all glad when the pictures were done and we could head to the church.

I thought about how often there are difficult things we go through that I know many times I have said I just want to be done, or even I don't want to do this. I've learned that when I surrender this thinking and allow the Lord to fill me with his Spirit I can face those things with greater peace and even with joy.

His spirit makes all the difference.

  1. WOW! I can't believe it. Your youngest baptized by your oldest! I still remember when she was born! What a beautiful day it must have been!
