Many things have been occuring over the past month we just haven't made time to get in and add a new post. So here goes with some random events that we will include some pictures of.
Nathan has made it to State solo & ensemble for a violin piece called Vocalise. He will be playing at Lone Peak High School in April. We wish him luck!!! (And don't forget to practice!!!) It is a beautiful piece and we have tried to down load a video of the piece but it won't work so I am technically challenged and can't figure out how to do these simple things, so sorry. It sounded really good though! (trust me)
Next, we took a family trip up to Salt Lake to participate in the temple work for John's Uncle Clive, and Grandpa Jack and Grandma Helen Craven. Ashlyn was able to enter the temple as she has recently turned 12 and able to Baptisms for the Dead. Ashlyn and Nathan were also able
I've gained a stonger testimony of family history and eternal families through this experience.
Lastly, John and I just returned from spending Friday and Saturday at a Yurt that is sponsored by Cedar Breaks National Parks and is located near Brian Head ski resort. We cross-country skied into the Yurt (which was a first for me being on any kind of skis since I broke my collar-bone about 23 years ago) with our back-packs loaded with sleeping equipment, food, a book or two and toilet paper. We were able to reserve the Yurt with accommodating cots and propane stove along with a wood burning stove for warmth. However, there were no bathroom facilities included in this special deal going only to those that will volunteer their time of 4 hours a day to do a few minor tasks and be on hand in the event of an emergency occurring on the mountain so someone can radio for help. All of this for the low, low price of FREE! People would pay good money to do exactly what we did this weekend. How lucky is that!! It actually was a really good time. It was very quiet and beautiful and wonderful just to be with John. I'm grateful he invited me to go with him and glad we were able to try something new!
Good luck Nathan! We'd love to hear how you did with your violin solo!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so cool. Nathan is such an inspiration to Dallin. He really looks up to him and has his heart set on learning to play the violin. We miss you guys!
