Manna--From whom will it come?

When the Children of Israel were led through the "Red Sea on dry ground" they were fed manna daily "that they might not perish". Those that took more than they needed, found that the manna spoiled and was no longer able to be eaten. One perspective that struck me was that by taking unto themselves more manna than they were commanded to they were attempting to take charge of their own deliverance. Which is often where I have found myself. "I can take charge of fixing my situation or I can change someone else and fix their problems. I don't need to look to the Lord to help me.

Really, I am just like the Children of Israel and if I will remember to trust that the Lord will deliver spiritual manna for me, for my family, for friends, for everyone every single day; then I can look to him to receive just the portion that is enough for me. There is enough for each of us if we will but look to him to receive it.
