This past week has provided some wonderful opportunities to learn. In a discussion with my daughter I asked if she felt like she knew how to study the scriptures. From her response I realized that I needed to improve in having deeper study experiences with each of my children.
My oldest daughter and I began with trying to understand how we can learn. There are many ways we learn from scientific methods to a more Classical humanistic approaches. We can learn from good books, good teachers, even good parents but ultimately the best teacher and the ideal way to learn is by faith through the Holy Ghost. Learning by faith opens the pathway into the heart. My efforts to seek and understand how this can be has blossomed into a rich experiences of personal revelation. Learning with my daughter has been icing on the cake as we have spent time discovering these things together.
The process of teaching my children to understand and guiding them to seek for their own answers from a loving Heavenly Father is a process that I feel I am just getting my head around. But I value taking time to discuss the things that matter most and find it to be a joy without measure. I'm loving the journey.
